hello

i had a problem with my acer aspire 5000 laptop, when running windoes xp my computer would just stop responding. after trying various different things i decided to do a reinstall of windows. everything went fine whilst installing the new files but when my comp restarted and went into windows setup it stops responding with about 35 mins left to go, the mouse stops responding and when it gets to the stage to put in a user name the cursor is flashing but im not able to type anything so i cannot get any futher. at this point my computer will not turn off if i hold the power button. I have tried a different HDD, RAM and version of windows.

Im not sure what to try next
Any ideas would be greatfully received
