the left directional button when pressed it goes to the 'home' menu...anyone encounter this kind of problem before...please help its hard without using the directional button...thx

What firmware are u using? If you are on OE, try reflashing. If you are within warrantee, return to sony.

#2: 1.00 -> 1.5 -> 3.03oe-c
#3: Ceramic white 1.5 -> 3.03oe-c -> 3.40oe

i m using 3.03 oe....ok i will try doing the reflash....do u tink is hard ware problem?

If reflashing doesn't work, then it could be a faulty circuitboard or loose connection that's causing something to short circuit. If you don't want to risk screw up even more by opening up your psp, I would take it to a repair shop.
