Hey all. Been reading the forums at work for a few weeks now and decided to purchase a new PS2. Got a slim silver one, and now have a set of the Magic Keys and Swap Magic 3.6 on the way (don't really care about Action Replay codes so I didn't think I needed 3.8).

After reading up about disc types, booktyping, and the billions of other problems and solutions on here, I'm eagerly awaiting my damned keys and SM to come in so I can test this stuff out.

So far I've downloaded a few games (GTA: VCS and LCS) to name a couple and burned them with my Phillips DVD+-RW SDVD8820 which is in my crappy gateway notebook. I have no idea who the actual manufacturer of the drive is, but I did manage to booktype these two games into DVD-ROM format (or so thats how it reads now when I stick the disc in). I am using Verbatim Discs DVD+R x16 (burning at 8x) with the lightscribe top which I use to make all my DVDs. DVD Decrypter says they are the MCC 004 type which I believe aren't too bad. Does anyone else here use lightscribe discs to make nice labels?

So now I wait to see what if any problems I'll run into now that I'm into copying games, and if anyone has any other suggestions. I also downloaded Gnie's Xpert Tools 2.0 so I can take a shot at rebuilding some games that have the larger TOC. Should get my keys in the next day or two and I'll hopefully give an update to see how successful I was. Anyways, love the forums, lots of great reads!!! THANKS!
