need help with dvd burning

ok!
i want to burn dvds but theres all this stuff to learn and i dont understand it so its very hard for me.
all i want is to buy a program that will let me burn dvds easy, very easy. i dont really care about the price.
please help if you can

Dvdxcopy xpress is easy and pretty fast for a no brainer software to backup dvd. Can even give it a trial run and there is a 100% money back guarente if you do buy it and dont like it later for any reason. Check it out here http://www.dvdxcopy.com/products.asp Also there are many programs talked about here that will do as good or many say even better and some of them are free. You may want to read up on some of the guides here before you make a decision.

needhelpT,
before you buy DVDXCOPY, I would like to let everyone know that it's not as easy as it sounds. Nothing is as easy as step by step. Why not use use FREE PROGRAMS
1. SmartRipper or DVDdecrypter
2. IFOEdit 0.95
3. the burner software that came with your DVD Burner should do it

Hey bud im in the same boat as rotoary. DVD Shrink with Nero is so freakin easy it almost does everything for you. If you do use Nero 6 make sure you use the DVD-video format and not the dvd- ifo/udf format.

ok i dont care what the price is.
so will Dvdxcopy xpress be able to copy dvd9 will it copy it strait to dvd-r or will i have to stick it on my computer and when burn it.
i think im going to trying the trail run and see if i can do it.if you guys have any tips it would help alot. thanks guys again.

I would recommend staying away from DVD X Copy b/c their software would not work w/ my Pioneer 106 (told b/c of firmware). I have found that the DVD Shrink & Nero process is the most stable and I haven't had any errors w/ it. Using Shrink & Nero is extremely easy as well, you can do everything w/ a few clicks. I highly recommend not purchasing the X Copy and going w/ Shrink & Nero, you will not be disappointed.

I have the Sony DRU-500A which is an earlier version of the 510A you have. I've used both Xcopy and Xpress on it. Xcopy has been very stable and done everything asked of it. Xpress was troublesome in it's latest versions that I used ( 3.0.1 and 3.0.2). It would read until 99% and then give a read error on random discs. I don't know if this has been fixed because I became frustrated with it, learned to use DVD Shrink and haven't looked back.
My best advice would be if you want very easy use XCopy ( not Xpress). If you don't mind a wee bit of learning, then DVD Shrink is superb.
Check out the link in Rotary's post and take a peek at the tutrial for DVD Shrink and see what you think.

Programs that don't compress any data (XCopy) will theoretically give you the best picture. When you compress a movie some degradation will occur.
This is relative, though, because much of it depends on what you will be viewing your backups on. If you view on a high-quality HDTV you are more likely to notice a loss of quality when movies are compressed quite a bit. I have a plain-janeSanyo 36" TV and I honestly can't tell a difference even with compression up to 15-20%. Maybe others who have better TVs than me can help you a bit more with this one.
