Is downgrading with a game like Gripshift possible?

Is there a specific exploit in GTA:LCS that makes the downgrader work? Because Gripshift comes with a 1.52 firmware installer (under 2.0). Would that work, or are there other 2.0 firmware games that work?

with GTA there was a bug with how it loaded saves thereby allowing it to load homebrew and the like
