I purchased a 3.03 OE PSP off eBay so I'm not familiar with the fw updating myself. Can you play online without fear of Sony infiltrating your PSP with their latest firmware? Does it ask you to update so you can just say no?

And finally, if I want to go to 3.3 OE can i go directly from 3.03 or do I have to go back down to 1.5 to get there?

Yes you can go directly to 3.30OE-A from a 3.03OE but the most recent is 3.40OE-A
