Okay, so here's my problem, after trying for weeks and weeks, I've successfully got the strawmod, and Action Replay Max EVO running CDLoader.ELF. Only problem now is, none of the disc I've burned my downloaded games .cue files to have run. They all get marked as "Invalid discs". I have tried Verbatim DVD+R at Maximum speed, Sony DVD-R at low speed, and Maxell DVD-Rs at low speeds. I'm tired of going out and buying more packs of DVDs, using a couple, and then having no use for the rest. Could anything other than the discs be causing this problem, could it be caused by my swap game? I would really appreciate some help, as I'm nearing the end of my rope on this...
Could you also include the steps you took to try to play the copy(power on with this disk, pull straw, swap that disk, etc.)? I know sounds dumb but maybe we can spot a flaw.
I modded my neighbors slim this way. CD loader should run most if not all games.
And do yourself a favor get DVD Decrypter for your ISO making and burning. Best prog hands down. No need for any settings just select mode ISO read to create ISO then when done select mode ISO write to burn. All done, perfect copy, no questions. I have made countless backups and all worked fine unless I did something wrong (rebuilding a game) or the image was bad (downloaded ISO).
Also I just noticed in your post about the downloaded games, try making a ISO from an original disk. Like I said before maybe bad downloaded images. Dunno just guessing till you post more info.
PS2: SCPH-7001 Straw mod installed and working fine :P

Burning: DVD Decryptor says the .bin files can't be burned to DVD but I hit continue anyway, burned fine.
Method: Open CDLoader.ELF off of USB stick using ARMax. Hit triangle. Remove ARMax disc. Insert PSM Demo disc. Hit triangle. Hit X after "PS2 DVD" is displayed. Disc stops spinning. Hit triangle. Insert burned game at "INSERT DVDR BY EA METHOD" appears. Hit triangle. "INVALID DISC".
And that's that.
HOWEVER: I just realized that according to my computer NONE of the discs I've burned contain any files at all!?! What the hell's up with that?
How big is your swap disc? Just wondering cause you said you use a demo disc. I suggest getting an actual game like Sonic Mega Collection Plus. That is what I use and it has ran all my backup games.
AS for DVD Decrypter, it is telling you the problem. It is made for ISO's not bin and cue files. Use Alcohol 120% for those type of image files.
Also I use DVD-R instead of +R. I have found they are compatible with more PS2 versions than the +R. My main PS2 (I have 3 all mem card exploited) can only read -R discs. It just hangs if the game is on +R, but if the same image is burned to a -R it runs like an original.
Other than those three I can't think of anything else.
I hope this helps.
Bin and Cue files are CD files and not DVD files. So that is most likely the main problem.
And just so i know. HOw can you tell your mod is working if you have not successfully burned a back up yet?
Thanks steimy I really didn't make that clear. That is a good question.
@crysta do you have any friends you can borrow a copy from that you know works on their modded console?
@crysta
I was looking over your post and think I found a flaw in how your using cdloader. Try this.
Load cdloader from usb threw Ar Max. Hit triangle(laser will retract and disc will stop)Swap AR with your TOC disc. Hit triangle(disc will spin and screen will say PS2 DVD in lower left) Now this is where it's different for me my disc will continue to spin until I hit x then the disc stops and it will say insert disc by EA Method. I then swap TOC disk with backup and hit x. That's it game loads.
Ah, yes, I realized that was likely a problem :D However I have tried that the last few times, and it now says "ERROR READING DISC" But recognizes it as a PS2 DVD...
