hello,
i just bought a liteon 16x dvd rom to spare my expensive sony burner from unnecessary wear and tear. it is rated at ripping at 16x speeds however im only getting 2 to 3x speeds at best.

Is there something i have to do to unlock the 16x speeds or is it the way i have it set up. I have it set up as a slave drive with the master being the cdrw that came with my hp puter. My computer has plenty of horsepower and ram p4 2.0ghz 768 megs of ddr ram.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Check your device manager to see if you are running pio mode! You should have used DMA.
