How can I get it to work? I have PAL Slim PS2, modchip installed. Every games works in it (burned games, imports etc.) But when I burned CB 9.2, it booted correctly. I would have wanted to hack Asch to Tales of the Abyss game with codes. I writed the codes down and when I wanted to change the game, it got stuck after that! I have the real copy of Tales of the Abyss and burned CB 9.2. Is there any other way to get CB open? I think it would work if I could boot it from my Memory Card, but I don't know how.. Anyone care to explain, step by step, how to boot the CB from Memory Card or even get the ELF file to MC? >_> Thanks in advance!

PS: I just registered here, so hi ya :D

Hi !

I have the same problem here, I use CodeBreaker 9.2 elf (take it here: http://rapidshare.com/files/33040744/CB.ELF.html ), this one is supposed to be cracked by a team called PS2TG..

But, impossible to launch my backup game from CodeBreaker, it always say "Game did not start, Please re-try", but the game works fine without CodeBreaker..

Then.. What ?

(I'v a Matrix Infinity modchip)

euh, I notice: I'v allready tried this :

Quote:
1. Download the Codebreaker 9.2 ELF and place it on a USB memory stick its around 2.8 MB.
2. download uLaunchELF v.3.80 CD.iso and burn it.
3. Boot uLaunchELF on your PS2 and follow the menu options and explore your memory card.
4. On you memory card create a BOOT folder.
5. Rename the Codebreaker 9.2 elf you have downloaded to BOOT.ELF, all upper case, and copy it to the boot folder on the memory card, it should look something like this mc0:BOOT/BOOT.ELF
6. Reset your PS2 while Holding R1 and CB9.2 should load from the memory card.
7. Select your cheat codes and start game.
8. Place your backup in the drive and hit X.
But don't work for me :/

When you change the game, the CB 9.2 eject the tray for you. However, the modchip may not realize that the tray is ejected and the security check is not bypass when you push the tray back.

Try to go to the option of CB and choose not to eject the tray. When the same menu show up for change disc, manually push the eject button and insert the game. Good luck.

But isn't that for the Fat PS2? I'm using Slim PS2 with modchip. Is there anyway to fasten the loading from the MC? (I use R1 to boot it)

You need to get cb92 work with disc first so that you can be sure that it's not the problem of software.

It works with disc, but when I change my game to NTSC game or backup game, it won't load. It only loads PAL games (I have modded PAL Slim PS2) after using CB92 disc. I think the reason is that the backup disc CB9.2 uses the "One loading" on my modded PS2 and when it tries to load the NTSC game or backup game, it can't because I have already used my loading. So I really need to load it from my MC somehow..

So, did you try what I said before?

The modchip is suppose to bypass check. However, if eject button is not push, it never know that CB92 as swap the disc. Hence, the modchip doesn't know it need to inject check bypass to the system.

Hence, your system will see the disc as backup instead of normal and you won't be able to run it.

Can your system run backup NTSC game if you just run it first?

In that case, back to my original post.

In CB92, go to option and change not to eject disc.

After selecting cheat, choose launch, press eject button of ps2 and take out cb92 disc and put game disc in and press eject button again to close try.

Press the x button as the tv screen indicate and launch the game. The modchip will see that you swap disc and will inject bypass signal so that your system doesn't know it's backup disc.

>Thanks for your help, but it isn't working at all...

When I try what you said, CB first show the message "Game did not start, Please re-try", and when I re-try a second time, it freeze on the screen "Please Wait - Starting game"..

Maybe I'm not lucky :p

How about this, if you load CB92 first, then put original ps2 game disc in next, does it load?

If the answer is yes, it means that your modchip does not detect eject button of swap disc, it only bypass check when bootup loading.

If the answer is no, it means that your cd92 has problem.

Make sure you select cheat before loading the original game. Otherwise, it's not even a test.

If you can use cb92 and original PAL game on a PAL ps2, it means that your modchip does not perform a bypass disc check with eject button press detection. The modchip has to work in order for PAL ps2 load NTSC disc.

If you know which modchip you have, you might want to check if the wire solder to the eject button pin is install correctly. It's usually label as "rst" or reset. However, if you didn't do the install, you might want to go back to the place you buy from and ask them about it.

Do another simple test. Power up your ps2 without any disc, after getting to the system menu, eject the tray and insert the backup disc to see if you can load the disc. The answer is most likely no.

If you already know which modchip you have, you can put backup disc in the ps2 first, power up and boot cb92 from memory, select cheat and launch game that is inside the tray already. You will need to dig up the instruction for your modship on this.

I thought I got a Matrix Infinity, but in fact I have a modbo4 chip, with the Matrix Infinity firmware..
THen, I presume presume that my chip enter in sleep mode after the boot, but I'v tryed to boot from the CB9.2 elf in dev2 mode (R1 key when the elf is in mc0/boot/BOOT.elf), but the problem is the same :(

The modbo4 chip does have a rst pin. The chip feature did mention that it support multi-disc game. As last resort, check the soldering from the rst pin to system board to make sure it is at right spot.

It worked for me, i dont know what kind of modchip i have on my ps2, i bought it modified already. this is how i did it...

1. Copied BOOT.ELF on my flash drive
2. Turn On the PS2 with ULaunchElf bootdisk & My Flash Drive
3. Created a folder named BOOT then copied the BOOT.ELF from my flash drive to the PS2 Memory Card, (BOOT/BOOT.ELF)
4. Browsed for the BOOT.ELF on the PS2's Mem Card and pressed O (default for OK)
5. It restarted then CODEBREAKER is running smoothly
6. Browsed for a game (God Of War), applied all cheats (by pressing X on the game title)
7. Then pressed START, it prompted me to change my game disk
8. I got my backed up game "God of War"
9. Closed the lid and pressed X
10. PS2 Restarted automatically
11. Played GOD OF WAR as a GOD, cheats enabled....

It worked fine for me, it kinda sucks that i need to give up 2mb of my ps2 memory card for the BOOT.ELF just to load it thru ULaunchELF. But i have an idea, why not burn the codebreaker BOOT.ELF on the ULaunchELF bootdisk, together on a single cd-r. That might solve everything. I'll do the same for Action Replay, Gameshark, etc.. maybe emulators and such too so i'll have the Disk of God. hehe.. what do you think guys? lets try it.. holla
