Hi all, I'm in the UK (London) and wondered if anyone could recommend a reputable UK based shop to buy a premodded PS2. Any advice on what 'chip' to have in it would be great, it needs to be able to play imports, back-ups and use a copied AR Max cheat disc. I've only recently got into backing up my PS2 games and currently use Swap Magic 3.6, but my current PS2 is about to die so rather than buy a new PS2 and use Swap Magic again I thought I'd give a modchip a go but don't have the knowledge to install one myself.
I've got a chipped PS2 that I was going to sell but never got around to ebaying it. Matrix chip installed and works on every back-up I've ever thrown at it. About 30 backups would be included.
Let me know if your interested.
Thanks lads, I had a look at the site and they have 2 premodded PS2's, what would you recommend the Matrix Infinity or the Ghost2 V2, I honestly haven't a clue about these things, I'm a total noob as its my sons PS2. They'll obviously allow him to play backups but will I be able to use a AR Max cheat disc (its a back up with all latest codes) with backed up games - I have trouble using my original AR Max disc with back ups at the moment because the disc doesn't stop spinning after I load the codes, so its hard to change.
Connolly, thanks for the offer mate, but I'm gonna need a warranty on this. My sons had a PS2 for about 4-5 years now and he's been through 5 consoles, thats just playing original games - no swap magic or anything- so our track record with PS2's isn't good:-).

well if those are your only two choices the i would say the Matrix Infinity all the way. You will have to look into the AR Max support. I know my DMS4 Pro works fine playing back up gams with AR Max. Some chips support it and others do not.
Hursty, Steimy thanks for the recommendation. Ghost2fitters seem very good. They don't mention repairs on their site but when I contacted them they said they would repair my PS2 (power problem) and fit my Matrix Infinity AND update the firmware for it before they post it back to be (as I wasn't sure about doing that)all for about £80 quid, thats including P&P, saving me about £70 if I were buying a new premod console. Lets hope the end product is just as good:-)
Hursty and Steimy thanks a bunch, had my PS2 back a few days now and its doing all my son wanted, even plays his backed up AR max with backed up games:-).
