PS1 with DMS4 Pro SE

I have a DMS4 Pro SE modchip and I am able to play legit domestic and import PS1 games on my PS2. The problem is that I cannot play my PS1 backups. I'm using generic CD-R's, so it could be the media. Before I go out and by some verbatims, I just wanted to know if it's the media or is it that the DMS4 Pro SE doesn't do PS1 backups? The backups work perfectly fine on my PSOne, btw.

yes, it should play PS1 games. There is even a PS1 game video fix setting in the ToxicOS options.
