how exactly will the upconversion benefit me on a native 720p dlp?

will i finally be able to play blue-ray movies in high def, instead of the ps3 down converting the image to 480i?

sorry if this doesn't make much sense. i'm not too much of a specs type person.

Well, when you play DVD movies and PS/PS2 games they will be upscaled to the highest resolution the TV can display I'm assuming.

There's already a method that makes the PS3 play Blu-ray in 720p, I think. I have a vague memory of hearing that somewhere, but I'm not sure how it works.
