Each time I try to burn a PS2 image at x1 with DVD Decrypter it sets it to x2 and on the side it only says it supports x2, x4 and x8 but inside the DVD case it says it can support x1, x2, x4, x8 and x16. I need to set it to x1 because everything else makes the games load for a long time time and stutters during gameplay (the faster burn speed the worse it gets) and so far the only one I havn't tried was x1. I would like to know how to get it to burn at x1 or how to fix my PS2 slim so it can read games normaly. It never happened with my big PS2 but the laser broke on that so I had to sell it. The slim plays normal games fine too.

1) What brand of Media are you using and what type?

2) What Version of PS2 are you using and what modification method?

I'm fairly new to this scene, and have recently purchased a slim PS2 (silver v15 I believe), and the MagicKeys II set with SwapMagic 3.6

So far I have currently copied the following games: Grand Theft Auto: LCS, GTS: VCS, Madden 2007, NHL 2007, NBA Live 2007, Burnout 3, Dark Cloud, Top Spin, the SNES Emulator with 4.0 gigs of games (w00t), and Capcom Collection v2.

I use Verbatim DVD+R's, burn at 4x on my Phillips SDVD-8880 with the latest firmware, and booktype to DVD-ROM.

So far I've only made one Coaster and that was when I rebuilt NBA Live 2007. I thought the original was going to have too large of a TOC and the rebuild wouldn't play but the original actually did.

I'm using maxell DVD-R's on a SCPH-70011 PS2 slim and I'm using swap disc 3.6 but I'm using the tape and tissue method for the tools, because the people that sent me the tools didn't send the right ones for my PS2.

The above is correct.
1. you should not be burning a 16X disc at 1X, that is just too slow. I would suggest 4X or even possiblly 6X ( I use 4X)
2. Maxcell are ok discs (only way to really tell what they are is by using a disc ID program and getting the disc ID then check it against this list http://www.teammodders.com/dvdmedia/ ) so those should work, and DVD-R should not be a problem.
3. make sure your DVD burner has the latest firmware that is available. This will help with burn quality as well as media compatibility.
4. If all else fails, and your burner can booktype media, then try some DVD+R and booktype it to DVD-Rom.
My top choices for media would be Taiyo Yuden (geniun only!), Verbatim and Philips. And i always used an 8X DVD-R burned at 4X and out of many, many games i have rarely had a Coaster.
Another possible factor when using Swap Magic is that some games need to be rebuilt in order to work. See swapmagicfix.com for a list.
