I just purchased a DVD writer with lightscribe. I also purchased HP DVD-R LighScribe Media. I have Nero 6.1 which doesn't support LightScribe. Is there an freeware download for that? How does it work? How do I print a lable using LightScribe?

There's a free trial.

I used SurethingCd labeler4 SE, Nero 6.6.0.14 Cover designer, and sonic. They're are all similar.

Create your covers or download them from sites like this:

http://covers.box.sk/.

http://www.cdcovers.cc/
http://www.cdcoverz.com/
http://www.coveruniverse.com/search.php?q=doom&c=4
http://www.freecovers.net/browse/movies.a.html
http://www.customcdlabels.com/
http://www.generetic.org/
http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/index.php
http://www.lightscribecovers.com/

Create a folder for your covers.Download the correct covers from those sites or your custom work to your covers folder.

Basically open up the labeling program, fish out the cover folder, select the cover, make sure the disc is upside down, and scribe it.

If Nero 6.1 doesn't support Lightscribe, why don't you upgrade? 6.6 does. You'd probably only have to upgrade the Cover Designer portion of Nero and get the LS driver(s) from LightScribe.com.

I did that already, I upgraded to 6.6, package 1. I also installed LS driver. Still Nero cannot detect the LightScrit drive. It would only print to my printer, not to the LS Drive. I tried the SureThing 5.0 trial version, and it worked. But they want $25 for the software.
