G'day All,

I have an old LG U880, which has suddenly decided to stop working. I have an old Nokia 1100 which i was going to use instead, which i have also unlocked. But when i put in the 3 sim card, it says 'Sim Rejected' even though the handset is unlocked.

I had a look on the 3 Australia website, and apparently we can only use 'approved by 3' handsets, and that only a 3 dealer can unlock any other phones which you may want to use. Is it that my Nokia is not accepting the sim card because of this, or is it not capable of accepting the 3G sim card?

If not, does anyone know if there is another way to unlock mt Nokia 1100 so it accepts the 3G sim card, without having to pay the high price? Or is it just not possible for this handset?

Any help anyone has to offer will be much appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply samad.

On the 3 website, they say they can unlock any non-3 phone to work on the 3 network for a price. Does anyone know how 3 unlocks the non-3 phones specifically for the 3 network?

That is not entirely true.

A 3 sim will work in other models but only if the other model supports 3G technology.

The 1100 is a 2G phone and will never accept a 3G sim.
