DVD Multi Recorder Doesn't work :(

Hi!

I'm a first time user for this forum,so please bare with me!! I'm having a helluva time with a LG GMA-4020B DVD mutlti-recorder.

The thing was bought about 2 months ago and I've only yet to successfully burn 1, yes 1 DVD -RW, using B's Recorder Gold 5 and a Maxell DVD-RW. The trouble is I was able to burn using the DVD-RW (which came with the DVD burner), but unable to burn to DVD-R, which also happens to be a Maxell 4.7 GB DVD-R. I have tried it so far on 4 different computers, thinking it might be my computer, to no avail. Even brought it back to the shop, which they were able to burn to a DVD-RW, ahhhh, yes, I'm thinking that perhaps the Maxell DVD-RW isn't compatible with the burner, ordered more disks to try.

In the mean time, I figured I'd post a message to see if anyone else was having trouble with this model.

Computer specs: Pentium III, 512 MB RAM, 80 GB HD, DVD-ROM.

This has be baffled, I've tried fireware, uninstalling software (anti-virus, other burning aoftware, DVD-RAM driver), and like I said I've also tried it on other computers,when I was able to burn a DVD-RW it wasn't on my machine, it was on a Pentium II, 128 MB and 20 GB HD.

Anyways, this message I'm sure is long enough, hope somebody, anybody can help me out on this one!! You'd think it would be simple to work, too stupid I suppose to use a computer, lol.

I am sorry, I have read your post three times now and have no idea what your problem is. YOu can burn to DVD-Rw but not DVD-r? Or you only were able to burn a disc once total? If I were you I would buy some Ritek DVD-RW and a couple Ritek DVD-R and test. Most people don't have problems with Ritek, and that should work for you. Are you runing programs in the background? Don't only burn the DVD.

Yes, I was able to burn one DVD using a Maxell DVD-RW, but nothing else. No programs running in the background, tried that. Yeah, I'm going to buy another brand of DVD-R's, hopefully it'll be that!
