Right I have a question.
I am pondering over whether to upgrade to 3.03 OE-C or 3.40-OE A (i think it's called.) Basically I want to play old PS1 games on my PSP, and also play ISO's of PSP releases. What setbacks could i encur if I chose the earlier 3.03 OE-C firmware? (Except not being able to play games with firmware above 3.03)

The price seems to be alright, but not guarantied. Fake or not, as long as you can properly store files on it to full capacity without them being corrupt, as Mrmcman said, then you should be fine. (Might be ripped off a bit if it's a fake, but that's it.)
P.S
To really tell if your card is real, you need to run a speed test. If it falls within sony's specification, it's real. A quick test might be using your psp. Go to Games -> Memory stick, now press the triangle button, and go to information. If under magicgate, it says supported, chances are it's real. If it says unknown, or there is no magicgate information, it's definitely a fake.
#1: 2.81 -> 3.03 -> 3.11 DoH (no more :D)
#2: 1.00 -> 1.5 -> 3.03oe-c
#3: Ceramic white 1.5 -> 3.03oe-c -> 3.40oe

Blackvamp, the little test you gave me there, which firmware will it work on. I just tried it on my current 1.50, with the 32mb card I got with the psp, and all I got was the used and free space!?

hmm, I don't think I've ever tried with 1.5. Maybe magicgate isn't built into 1.5 or something. I don't know. :D

maybe 1.5 doesnt support such a large stick? i thot they were supposed to support 4 gb right off the bat, but u never know...

The 1.5 im trying it no right now has a 32MB card in it at current!

upgrade to 3.40oe-a and 1.5 is not supposed to support 4gb and amazon is sellin offical sony 4gb for £35! and some peoples psps support 4gb some dont... weird init

more recent and 3.40oe-a isnt bad 3.03oe-c is better for customizing 3.40oe-a plays more ps1 games

Right thanks scott. So 3.40 OE-A has better compatibility with PS1 Games... that's what im looking for. Is it easy enough to upgrade from 1.5 to 3.40 OE-A? And you would recommend it to someone wanting to play PS1 games and ISO's from memory stick then? Note all my stuff is PAL will there be issues there?

Just checked that link I found mate.
EASY Installer A.K.A NOOB proof (RECOMMENDED)
It's the one where you put the file on the psp and select it and it does the rest. I assume its the same download as the one u posted.

Also, just to point out. The winstaller will actually install on 32mb. So you should be able to upgrade to 3.40oe right now.

Ah right! So if I was going to do that, and it all went fine, and the 2gb card arrived, what would I want to transfer from the old memory card to the new memory card?

Hi there,
Card just arrived! I just ran the little test, it's got 1950 Mbs of free space and it IS MagicGate supported!

Take the 2gb card bit out my sig? Why do you say that? It's coming out now anyway that it's arrived mate. Also, I made my sig a while ago.

Ok guys. I ripped a copy of Crah 3 onto the PSP. Works excellently, except the screen size isn't right. It's only taking up a box in the middle of the screen, the rest is just black. Also, sometimes the audio is a bit messed up. The guide I used was this: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/450045
I tried clicking the fix screen height box but to no avail!

Press Home button, a menu will show up. You can adjust screen size in there.

Yes, just noticed that there after I posted. Fixed it now, almost perfect. Everyone else might be the same, just checking... if I choose full screen it takes up the correct size but I get black lines around the 4 sides of the game... it's like its in a box but its much bigger now. If I choose zoom it takes up the full size of the screen but I lose a little bit of the game.... ?
