RealNetworks announced on Thursday that its new version of its digital media player will allow users to save video from websites such as YouTube. A "Download this video" will hover next to videos seen on thousands of websites allowing users to save them for viewing later or even to be stored on DVD. This is great new to see that a company like Real is behind this. It is a very good idea that they are initiating cause a lot of these videos can be used in the educational institutes and then the teachers do not have to worry about internet connection etc... This will make it possible for them to convert it to CD/DVD and play it on a player in class.

This is cool. There is a lot of third party software that can do this, but to put it into a mainstream release is keeping the interest of the consumer in mind.

I use a standalone video downloader. It is more professional at downloading videos. It is desktop based tool which can simultaneously get several videos from different sites. And what's more, you can save internet videos as intended formats since it can convert videos to other formats.
