which format is the file ?
if it's cso ,dax or jso you can use iso compressor

i dont noe wat u mean by etension but thers lots of files (which happens a lot ) an whn thers is a lot of files i can ussualy just extract for the real thing. but i noe its not a iso format because whn it finshied i didnt appear in WinRAR books

i hope this is what your problem is

sometimes rar files show up as unknown files because windows doesn't know to which program should associate the files

try this
in one of the files right click , open with ,then windows will ask you with which program you want to open the files ,choose WinRAR in the program list ,WinRAR will open then click extract to
