Hi
Im new to the whole writing games thing. I have various games, all coming with image.000 and image.dvd files. My burner is a pioneer 111d with the lastest firmware. It writes any game fine but is always stopping at the 51% of the write mark. I have the layer break set correctly and am using version 2.1 of imgburn. Am i doing something wrong, any reason why this is pausing? Its not erroring in any way, its just stopping writing but carrying on with the time elapsed but isnt going any further.
If it helps, this is always at the sector 1,914,528 point, 425.29.03 on the itme part. Any ideas?

dont open the . dvd file and if you do make sure that you erase the part about the layer break and manually set the layer break at 1913760 by going to tools-settings-write

I have just tried again opening the .000 file and opening it with imgburn and again its done exactly the same amount of write and paused. Upon looking at the log tho i have a power calibration error. Not sure what that means. Im using discs ive just bought which are ridisc 8x DVD+R DL. Purple discs where you write the label on the bottom right of the disc if that helps

sounds like its just a layerbreak error but i could be wrong. try deleting the .dvd file completely because it should say something like "you were supposed to open the .dvd file for this image, this time ill do it for you"

thanks for your help on this. the .dvd file had exactly the same layer break in as ive put onthe write settings bit in imageburn. And the file its burning is correct in that its pointing to image.000. would i have more joy updating to the lastest version of imgburn, which i see on there website as 2.3.2 whereas im on 2.1? It just seems strange to me its stopping at the same place on any disc

its the .dvd file, its telling to to stop when its already got it set manually. just delete the .dvd file and burn the .000 file. you dont really need to update, wont do much good as they are about the same.

but i dont understand why tho. These discs aren't cheap and cheerful from what im told. Yes i can understand the 360 maybe being picky about what it wants to read and what it doesnt, but surely in the first instance the pioneer drive should write a ridisc surely?

I had errors in the past like that , it was because of the way i had set up the burner on the IDE channel. If your sharing with ur Hardisk on the same cable maybe thats why?

clonecd never fails me with image.000 files. make sure the dvd file is the same name as the image file. i always use memorex dual layered and they all work perfect how many bytes does your dvd file have? and what is the exact name you see when you open it with notepad?

in the end i tried it with Verbatims, still no joy, exactly the same error as soon as it started to burn the second layer, it would stop. I changed the IDEs around, still no luck, then as a last resort installed the whole thing onto my brothers PC and still the same error. So i binned the drive, bought a new one, ironically exactly the same drive Pioneer 111D, updated the firmware, burned games on both Ridisc and Verbatims first time, which work in the xbox. About 15 DVD+Rs later, i find out that my drive was shot
