Can't get a AVI to play in WMP!

I have a movie that will not play in WMP or Movie Player Classic but will in Nero.

I've investigated the file with virtualdubmod and it says that the codec is "divx@6.5.1 codec (2 logical cpus)"

I've loaded LOADS of 6.5.1 codecs but I still can't get it to play iN WMP - all I get is the 'fractal' type display I usually get when playing audio.

Where do I go from here?

Try using VLC player or try to download and install the FFD show decoder pack. You could also uninstall all your decoders and install just the FFD show one. It has all the codecs you will need. The codecs could be interfering.
