okay so my freinds got this PSP and he upgraded it to 3.40 sony firmware *moment of silence* so i decided to set out and look for something or some clue of a close downgrader or anything else. I thought that maybe there could be a recovery mode software that can do everything the normal recovery mode does but you can just activate it right off the mem stick even on official sony firmware. could this be possible? if it could i would love some feedback and then my friend can go back to 1.5!

Nope,not possible since there is no downgrader for anything thats higher than 3.03.

Isn't possible since the PSP system files reside in flash on the PSP motherboard you would need to be able to have write access to that flash. And currently there are only 2 ways to get/use write access, and that is through a downgrader or a firmware 1.5/OE.
