My Very first DVD Burn, I'm so excited....

I had these avi's just laying around in my PC and I wanted to watch them on my dvd player in the living room, but was tired of burning them to just 1 cd-r multiple times... SO I decided to try multiple avi's to 1 DVD. So I did my research and converted these AVI's to MPEG 1, which by the way made my 150 meg file into 500 meg's now, which is ok. I was able to do 2 full movies (a little over 2 gig) and then I tried Nero5 to no success, So then I Found TMPGEnc DVD Authur, which is very simple to use if your a Newbie like me :)
After finishing this, which did not take long at all, I tried the DVD on my player in the living room. It was great, I had my own Menu and everything...
But I do have one question, The quality is a little choppy, meaning I can see the (what looks like pixels) little squares on the tv, - Can this be fixed? I did the convert in PAL ratio, Using TMPGEnc.

AVI - DVD will have tendencies like this. This is because of the quality in difference between mpeg2 DVD VIDEO and mpeg4 AVI.

I found that when I rip to mpeg2 at a high frame rate (like 30 fps) I can get pretty good video quality later when I convert it back to dvd. At 25 fps it's much more pixelated like (y|3er mentioned. I've never been able to get a decent video quality on an mpeg1 video, so I've never tried to burn one to dvd.

THANKS FOR THE INPUT....Last night we watched Texas Chainsaw Massacre (all time fav.), my wife has never seen that movie, so I burned it to DVD. This time I did the MPEG 2, and noticed alittle difference in the quality, however this time, the Sound started slowing down in certain parts of the movie... Although It may just be the movie itself, has anyone heard of that before?
