ive search the threads and ive been left with uncertainty. from a few things ive read, it says i cant downgrade my psp that has a ta-082 and fw 2.81. but after reading a few others, it says that i can. coudl anyone clarify for me? thanks.

Yes you can. You just have to upgrade to 3.03, and use the downgrader from there. Don't update using the network update, that will put you at 3.50. Use this to update:
