i flashed ixtreme 1.2 last nite to a ms28 and everything worked fine...buddy has a ms25 so i just did the same approach to his with the 10 sec trick (didnt want to reformat for ms25 drive cuz im lazy) and everything worked but it asked me if i wanted to spoof the ms25 drive...i went ahead and said yes. what does it mean to spoof the drive?

I was told on here to select no and leave it as a ms25. If you select ms28 it just reports itself as a ms28 instead of a 25.

As far as i'm aware the ixtreme was made for an ms28 and you have to spoof it as an MS25. I selected yes when I dont mine.

Spoofing just means it makes it look like another drive if it is checked.

i think the real benefit of spoofing is if you replace a drive in your 360 for a different one, say if you has an ms25 and then put in an ms28, you would then put your firmware on the new drive and spoof it to look like your old drive.
thats how I see it anyway.
