Can I use DVD-R for old Xbox1 games?

I asked in Xbox forum but no one's there.
All the guides say use DVD+R but don't mention DVD-R.
I'm playing on the 360.

not sure, you may just want to stick with DVD+R. better safe than sorry.

Yes if you are using 5.3x or maybe a couple of versions lower. I played a few old Xbox backups that were on DVD-Rs. That's probably not too Live safe these days, but it can be done on a Samsung drive.

As for single layer discs, neither my ms25 or my ms28 liked -r's. Only +r and + rw's.
