im just learning this whole xbox modding stuff. i just downloaded backups to my xbox games and i am wondering if i can just burn them and play them on my regular xbox or do i need one with a different dash chip or mod any help would be appreciated.

I assume you are referring to the XBox 360 rather than original XBox? If you are referring to the 360 then you will need to change the firmware on the DVD drive. Before you can do that you'll need to know what drive you have.

With an Xbox 360 you have to flash the drive

With the original Xbox you need to either softmod your system or get a modchip like a DuoX2 to play back up discs.
