iso is basically the whole game or disk in one file: example...

residentevil4.iso

that would be the whole game in one file that u can either put on a memory stick (so in essince your game would be on the memory stick) or burn to dvd/cd

1)you cannot get it on any sony firmware above 1.5. You can downgrade to version 1.5 if your have firmware 3.03 or lower. There is also custom firmware which allows you to use isos.

2)From torrent sites.
