if you have a 4 GB Memort Stick (ScanDisk or Sony) the following will increase the speed the loading of ISO's from the MS

VERY IMPORTANT - back up your current MS to your computer

with PSP connected to PC via USB - take a note of the drive letter

now open up a DOS Window

type following

format <drive>: /FS:FAT

where <drive> is the drive letter

when asked about cluster sise answer YES

Takes about 5 minutes.

done

I have done this using Windows XP and my PSP loading time from MS has doubled.

It will work with all memory stick 4 gig or below. Might just be a bad memory stick

#1: 2.81 -> 3.03 -> 3.11 DoH (no more :D)
#2: 1.00 -> 1.5 -> 3.03oe-c
#3: Ceramic white 1.5 -> 3.03oe-c -> 3.40oe
Whatever happens, happens...

I might have to try that one...after formatting via the PC, do you just drop the folders back on to the memory stick?

All mine ms are cheap ebay fakes (less the 32mb came with psp). 4gig only $40 each, all working perfectly. Most of the fakes works no differently than real ones.

I did what you said and it's formatting it now... funny thing though, it didn't ask me anything about clusters, it just said press ENTER when ready, so I did. It's formatting.

I happen to get lucky on ebay. I payed $47 for my 4 gig memory stick. I was sure was a fake, but when I got it, I pulled an official SONY 4gb memory stick out, still in the SONY package. I still don't know what that converter thing is for, but I'll hang on to it.

Good question, do you just copy past the folders or you have to format the memory stick again with the PSP.

PSP (+[__]%): 2.80 < 1.50 > 3.40OE-A > 3.71M33-4 > 3.80m33-5 > 3.90m33-3 > 4.01m33-2 + 8gb MSPD
PS3 HD 60GB: 1.33 > 1.90 > 2.01 > 2.17 - NO OS
Nintendo DS [+[__]%]: EZ Flash 5 Plus + 1GB MicroSD + EZFlash 3in1
Nintendo Wii: 3.2U + 1GB SD Card + WiiKey 1.9s

copy copy back the memory stick contents from the PC to the Memory Stick - no need to reformat it in the PSP (which if done will format it back to FAT 32 - where as on the PC you formatted it to FAT16)

That's what you do. Just put all the folders back on the stick.

I suggest copying them to a seperate folder so that when you move them back, everything will be as it was before.

So do we have any testimonies from people who have actually tried this method of reformatting their sticks??

..anyone have a rough percentage on how much faster load speeds they get?
