720p and 1080i are more or less the same, you will get the best picture with 1080p tv, but at the moment all the ps3 game only support 720p so even with a 1080p tv you and playing a game with that, you would only be gettin a 720p picture.
thanks

1080p is better than 1080i, you dont get flicker effect and its a whole solid image. and things "i" are inferior.

But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

at 32", you wont gain much from 1080p anyways. however, 40"+ will benefit from it

its all a factor of distance and size. 1080p on a smaller screen will look beter than if it were larger because you wouldnt see the resolution lines as easy. 40"+ needs 1080.

really? see, i got a 42" 720p, but i tend to sit closer to it cause of vision problems. my older brother has a 60" 1080p but i never get to use it - you think the difference (for me) would be that dramatic?

I have a CRT rear projection 65? Mitsubishi running 1080i and I don't see any flicker. Too bad my TV will not run at 720p so most of my games run at 480p :(( But there should not be much difference in resolution between 1080i and 1080p. The difference will be in a better technology television, todays 1080i TVs will look better than my 1080i TV because of better comb filtering and light processing. Some day I will get a 720p TV so most of my games will look better. I wonder if a 1080p game forced to run at 720p would have a higher frame rate, is it like the PC the higher the resolution the higher the frame rate? (I am talking about high end video cards not the on board video cards that only run at faster frame rates when you run them in 640X480 with 16 colors vs 1024X768). My 8800GTX has a faster frame rate at 1200X1600 than at 1024X1280, is the PS3 the same way 1080p vs 720p frame rate?
