Modchip firmware problem, Codebreaker/AR Max don't work.

I'm on PS2 slim 7000x series, NTSC/J.

Matrix Infinity modchip, current firmware is 1.54

I downloaded and burn V.193 for the upgrade, it does boot up to the setup screen, but then just simply crashes. It says to press "START", and that's all I keep doing on my controller and there is no response.


Second, I've burn both AR MAX and COdebreaker 9. Both of them boot up, I select the code, press start, it asks me to put in the game, and when I do, it says wrong disk/try again.

Haven't tried it with an original game yet.

Anyway to fix the probs I have?
