File Downloading cannot Be Opened By Default Program

i get the following message when trying i click on any clip on line. i have to save it and then it opens in media player 11 - vista.

i have checked and have made media player default to most types of video files, but this message comes up 100% of the time.

please help, thanks. i dont know if this is a media player issue or a ie issue.
