It's actually with a not-so-related game, called Kinnikuman Muscle Grand Prix MAX (some may know of it as one of the Ultimate Muscle series).
I have been trying to figure out a way to rip music out of it, so I figured I can try to rip the image file from the game itself first.
Unfortunately, BOTH DVD Decrypter AND PowerISO fail to heed and aren't able to rip the image file (i.e. both programs do not recognize the file format and/or is unsupported, even though it is a .BIN file...)
The disc itself has 3 huge DUMMY.BIN files, as well as one DATA.BIN and other files associated with most games (modules, system speed dial, an SLPS file...).
Although there is this one IOPRP310.IMG file that is staring me in the face...
*sigh*
Been wrestling with this for about a couple days now, can anyone help a brotha out?
thanks a mil.
Have you bothered trying Alcohol 120% to made a .mds and .mdf file of the game? and have you also tried Apache 3 or ISO buster in simply extracting the files?
But now I am running into a similar problem.
Trying to rip from the same game (Kinnikuman Muscle Grand Prix Max).
And about an hour later, it is stuck at 96% while giving me repeated Disc Read Errors.
I played the game myself recently, and it ran just fine. Is there anything I am doing wrong? I'm still rather unfamiliar with Alcohol...
What's the disc condition of the game? Mint, excellent or what? You'd be surprised how sensitive Alcohol 120% can be in creating an ISO if you have a scratched sector (although it could just be me). The game might be completely fine but extracting all files from the game disc to make an ISO includes the dummy files sadly unless you make a replacement dummy bin instead. Dummy .dat files and whatever else is another story. The error Alcohol 120% might be reading could be the dummy data in that particular sector which it's trying to get.
And do you really need the entire ISO or just s portion of the ISO? ISO buster can do single file extractions. Like let's say I only want the ELF file off the game, I can simply extract that ELF file from the PS2 game Tales of the Abyss from either reading the game disc within my dvd drive or from the ISO I created of it. I recommend using ISO Buster or Apache 2/3 even if all you want is a mere file or folder.
Ok ok. I'll try ISOBuster, then.
I do only want one file from the game (DATA.BIN), the rest are stupid dummy files that's just there to take up the rest of the space on the DVD.
I wouldn't know either or even where to begin. I thought you only needed help extracting the file(s) from the game. You can try alucard.cc and see how it goes.
ripping music from ps2 images can be complicated, and there are no set rules for all games
google for a proggy called CubeMediaPlayer (IF YOU CAN FIND IT),see if that helps
If you get it,open the image, thenin the image look for these file type as examples
