Modding The Old Halo 2 Maps I Neeeeed Help

Ok, so i am a "okay" modder, i know how and have modded most of the new maps. When i was looking into modding the old maps i started to try it. So far i am at the point where i have got halo on my hard drive but whenever i apply a sppf or ppf to the old map and overwrite the original one on my smartFTP it says successful. But when i go to Halo 2 and try them out the mods on the map do not work.. what am i doing wrong?????

i did that and i was using cmr. And the map will load but the mods are like they where never there, the map is just normal
