Hi.

I hope I am posting this in the correct section.

I?m very new to all this.

I?ve done a lot of reading on this site and it has helped, but I thought the best way to find out what I need to know is to ask the following.

I have some AVI files (full movies) stored on my computer. What is the best way to put these on a DVD disc so that I can play it and watch it on the TV.

The programs that I have tried today seem to take forever (6hours +)

Is there a quicker way of doing this and if so how?

Like I said above im quite new to all this so simple explanations please.

And thank you in advance for any help

Vinny, tryTHIS There are several guides on how to "convert" files to a DVD compliant format. Please use the search function, as this will give you the best possible answers to date.

Encoding an AVI file of two hours running time may take two hours.
It should burn to DVD in fifteen minutes.
Either the PC is particularly slow or there's a problem.

Convert the AVI with this program:

http://dl.afterdawn.com/vsoDivxToDVD_setup_v0.5.2b.exe
Import the file(s) (AVI, WMV,MPEG, VOB)
Output (standard DVD file format) to a folder on the HDD.
Set 'Aspect' to 4:3 (if you have a regular tv)
Set 'Standard' to NTSC (if you live in North America)


Burn the DVD from the output files with 'ImgBurn'

Run ImgBurn
Mode > 'Build'
Output > 'Device'
File > 'Browse for Folder', highlight on the 'VIDEO_TS' folder, > 'OK'
Click the green write button.
