I got my ps2 flip top for my console. Regular games play quite, but my copied games play real loud. sometimes they skip too. Now i've been reading that memorex are apparently the worst discs for games. Conincedently thats the discs i have. is this the problem or should i get a label maker so the disc has more grip or weight to it or something. Another question.. what discs are the best for ps2 games? any suggestions?

One in need, who can help or be helped...huh?

although they may be some of the worst media for burning backups,
lets evaluate the method of burn for skip-causing issues.

what are the max speed rating on those, and what speed are you burning at?

The max speed is 16x, i'm burning at 1x. I just bought TDK DVD-R 16x. I live in a small town and choices are limited, so I'm looking for Phillips 8x no luck. What do you recommend.

i recommend trying to burn it again at 8x or 4x.
the tricky part with ps2 games is burning too fast (aka the rated max speed) can cause problems, burning too slow (aka 1x) can cause problems.

general concensus on this forum as to a rule of thumb is, half the rated max (8x in this instance), and no slower than 4x.

that should at least be a step in the right direction.
of course better media would be better, but we work with what we can get, right?

Yeah that actually worked great with the TDK brand. I backed up 3 successful games. I also found out by starting it on "special" makes it load and play quiet. thank you much. Media seems to be extreamly important. What is the special setting for anyways. I need a complete manual for this swap magic so i can better understand it.
