hello everybody. my LCD broke but my psp's still working. i just couldn't see a darn thing. what should i do? thanks

Get a new LCD from ebay. Replacement is pretty easy.

#1: 2.81 -> 3.03 -> 3.11 DoH (no more :D)
#2: 1.00 -> 1.5 -> 3.03oe-c
#3: Ceramic white 1.5 -> 3.03oe-c -> 3.40oe
Whatever happens, happens...

From ebay is around $40. Make sure you get a Sharp LCD, they are of better quality, and there are no dead pixel issues with them.

right. i'll check if it's available in stores here. i'm very afraid to open my psp. but if that's the only choice, why not?

Beware, when you open up your psp, you will void your warranty.

like that psp was about 1 year old and i bought it from japan. will going to any sony service center in any country help lessen my expenses?

If you don't have warrenty anymore, which I don't think you do, going to sony is only going to cost more. I'm pretty sure they just charge $90 and give you a refurbished one they have in stockpile.

i see.. and plus the fact that they would change my psp's fw into something that can't be downgraded.. argh >.<

Okay here is my story. I had a psp.... bricked it boutght a friends with a broken LCD and told him"man thats gunna cost ya a pretty penny but i ll give you 50 for it... Got home looked up a guid http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/371814#2218514 and viola i now have a 3.03 oe-c psp...whew that was a life saver. But it is really no big deal pretty easy actually. took me about 30 minutes to remove and replace and replace the broke one in the bricked psp..Yeah you will void your waranty but you can do you need a #0 screwdriver.take a deep breath and dive into it PM me if you have any questions.
