for some reason 720p looks amazing and 1080i looks like garbage so if u disappointed try 720p

I actualy got Vegas the day after I had to send in my HD TV to be repaired. So Im playing it on a 36inch tube tv. I think thats at 420 since Im using S-Video. Hopefully I get my money back to buy a nother flat panel model. I learned my lesson with bying unknown brands like Vizio. I hope Vegas doesnt look too bad in 1080i/p. I cant tell the difference with the 360 version and the ps3. If there is any difference then its not by that much

any game or movie that supports 1080i looks great except vegas at 1080i i thought the game looked like a ps2 game the color was blury and things werent as sharp as everything else i view at 1080i but reverting to 720p stopped me from returning the game im a rainbow 6 newb ive never played a rainbow 6 until this one and wow its a lot of fun now that ive put in a few hours

wow...thats weird u said that...a friend invited me to a chat and showed me pics of both resolutions...the 1080 was horrible...surprising and weird...

Might have been something they threw together at the last moment to say ha we got one of the first 1080 games, and pray that no one noticed that they slacked off. I don't got an HDTV yet so meh...

most of us probably know by now that ubisoft is not ps3s biggest fan either they got lazy like u said or they wanted it to look like crap

Sony doesnt seem to have very many friends anymore, xbox 360 and the Wii went for the charms of cheapness approach which helps the devs, but when it comes to making a game for a ps3 its much more complicated and that pisses them off. I wish they could look at it as having the ability to create a piece of art rather than a cheap gimmicky game, that is both made and sells easily.

You're not the only one to notice. IGN made some big points about this game looking better at 720.
I gotta tweak my tv to see what it looks like at 720. I've just been too lazy to switch it lol.
The game has been amazing though. I love it that it's so realistic (like not being shot at 20 times and not dying or finding some random ammo in the middle of a casino table).
I haven't even done anything online yet. I'll do that after I finish the game.

yeah i know! i bought the game like 2 days ago...and when i switched it to 720p it looked awesome...pretty weird huh? maybe they didn't build the game specifically in 1080i format...maybe the just stretched it...who knows..

Or, maybe they made the game so realistic that at certain points, it will look blurry or as if your vision is blurred. Im thinking that it may be more visable of this so called blurriness when facing some type of lighting. for example, the sun when in the first stages of the game. Looking further down an ally that may infact be lit up, you would think you should see it clearly, but we all cant see the same when something is at a far distance than it would be right infront of your face. I remember seeing this in the 360 version viewing it a 1080p. It was a lil blurry then, but what I stated was what i was thinking when i first noticed it.
or it may just overall look terrible in 1080i and someone just screwed up.

^^ You're a bit of an optimist if you believe the former lol.
If that were true, however, then at certain points (while vieweing at 720p), the quality of the video should fluctuate. It doesn't. Therefore, after I, too, switched back to 720p, it was great.
I guess they just didn't bother with 1080i, which is ridiculous.
The game is great, though.

well yeah you are right...
Well I guess we still got a ways to go to get closer to a perfect game. Hopefully this (other than the choppy and lagging online play) will be the only issue with Vegas. Its still a great game

i think it has to do something with the fact that its a port from the xbox...maybe something about downscaling...downscaling usually looks better...or something about the "p" or "i"...not too sure though...dont know much about resolution stuff...suggestions...?

Yeah, don't get me wrong, it's a fantastic game, probably one of the best on the PS3 right (especially since I now know how to survive--I know i can't pull the things i pulled in FEAR).
I just gotta remember to up the display to 1080i when I'm not playing this game.

I cant belive you guys actually like this game,bought my copy the first day it came out for 360 and hardly played it.Not to long ago I sold it for $40 on ebay

yea...i played the last rainbow six and i hated it...this one was just wayyy better...its pretty fun...the only and major problem online is spawn camping...and slight lagging...

I haven't done the online yet, what's spawn camping?
I love the fact that it's very realistic. Also, running a special ops team is always fun.
On top of that, it's Vegas! Vegas, baby...

well...ya know how you have to appear or "spawn" on the map to play rite...? well...ppl from the other team go to ur spawn point and kill you the second you appear...it sucks pretty bad...

you can fix that pretty easily. Just tell the host to set up 5 or 10 seconds of invencibility when u respawn. that will give you time to take cover or kill the other players

i first got this game for the 360 had a little go and wasnt inpressed at all untill i went online and it was all i played and loved it ! but now i cant get on xbox live so i bought it for ps3 specially for online but i was dissapointed about it the resolutuion but hey i play on 720 n looks good but online i think ive managed to play 2 games without getting cut off i keep getting chucked offline saying i lost the connection and all and the way online is that only having searcgh a match instead of browsing them aint as good its wired cos i dnt have a internet problem when playin resistance only this game any tips from any1 ?
