BBC to bring Galapagos to Blu ray and HD DVD

BBC Video, riding the immense success of "Planet Earth", has officially announced they will be bringing the stunning documentary "Galapagos" to both Blu ray and HD DVD on October 2nd.
The film was shot entirely in HD and has spectacular footage and never before seen satellite imagery of the Galapagos Islands in South America.

I wonder if all the footage will be in HD (cos it wasn't all HD on Planet Earth - which was kind of funny for those that didn't know and didn't even notice or those who did & complained about it).
I wonder if this time out the HD DVD version will be the biggest seller too (as it was with PE)?
I guess not too many of those PS3/BD owners aren't so interested if it isn't part 3 or 4 or 5 of some instantly forgettable & predictable US action 'blockbuster'?

Well this is nothing new all movies will eventually go to the HD discs and Blu-ray.

I'm curious as to whether there's a difference in the HD DVDs...I see it listed as IMAX and sometimes as BBC...Is there only 1 release?

I thought HD-DVD was not supported any more ?
The BPI Are: SONY, UNIVERSAL, WARNER GROUP, EMI.
The RIAA Soundexchange Are: SONY, UNIVERSAL, WARNER GROUP, EMI.
The IFPI Are: The same anti consumer lot as listed above!
The MPAA Are: SONY, UNIVERSAL, WARNER GROUP, DISNEY, PARAMOUNT, FOX.

All depends on your defintion of 'support', I guess...HD DVD remains pretty popular among many fans of movies etc...Personally, I have no intention of letting go of my Toshiba HD-XA2 anytime soon...Apart from the small but excellent collection of HD DVDs I have, the upconverting capabilities of the player for regular DVDs are spectacular IMHO.
Moreover, just look around...ebay and the internet is loaded with titles and players that are still moving briskly

And again, winning is often times in the eye of the beholder...It's correct to assert that Blu-Ray won in terms of which is the standard for high definition DVDs but that too is a tenuous position as media is rapdily changing in that regard.
The point, in the end, is that while HD DVDs are no longer being produced, there is a healthy market for both the HD DVD players and the HD DVDs..Look around, you'll find it's true
Reminds you that even in wars of business like this, the 'better' medium doesn't necessarily win but that $$ talks
