My dvdshrink used to work perfectly fine, approx 40-45 minutes to encode a disc & then Nero 8 minutes to burn a disc.
Since we have moved they are gradually getting slower, to the point now it takes approx 2-3 hours to encode a disc & 100 minutes to burn the disc.
I have uninstalled & reinstalled both application numerous times & cannot figure out why this would happen, f someone knows something please please please can you let me know how to fix it.
THankyou

Check the Primary and Secondary IDE controllers for DMA status on the hard drive and the dvd burner.
My Computer, Properties, Hardware, Device Manager.
click on the '+' beside IDE Controllers.
Right click the primary and secondary to check the properties, then 'Advanced Settings'
DMA should be on for the hard drive and the DVD burner..
You can also run Nero Tools > Nero Info Tool and click on the 'Configuration' tab.
If either the HDD or the Burner has DMA turned off, use the device manager to uninstall the particular channel.(right click, 'uninstall') then reboot and it will be reinstalled.

What if I don't have a secondary it just has the first thing and a primary. Would that still be fine??

It just means that there is nothing connected to the Secondary.
It's normal practice though to have the HDD on the Primary and Optical devices on the Secondary - but don't quote me.

Well when I first used DVD Shrink it took about 40 minutes for the entire process now it takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes what happened. This is the first time I used my dvd burner. does it break in or something and take longer?

If DMA is off on the burner, then certainly uninstall the controller and reboot.
If you are using DVD Shrink to rip DVD's you should switch to DVD Fab Decrypter and save Shrink for shrinking.
The drive drops out of DMA when there is a problem reading a disk.
It doesn't happen in normal operation but ripping encrypted DVD's will do it and because DVD Shrink has not been updated for years it cannot be relied upon to rip the newer releases.

Think that's tedious? Try using Zune software to convert and sync a 2gb video file to the player. Takes between 5-6 hours. Praise be to Microsoft; OUCH!

Click 'Start' >'Turn off Computer'
After using DVD Fab, open the output in Shrink and click 'Backup'.
