1. Connect your PSP to your computer.
2. Open X:/PSP/MUSIC or X:/MUSIC. (X: being your PSP)
3. Create a folder for each artist.
*If more than one album by an artist is being used, create a separate
folder for each album. (I usually go by release date)
Ex. "Nelly - 2000 Country Grammar"
Ex. "Nelly - 2002 Nellyville"
Now folders are arranged not only by artist but by release date not
name.
4. In each folder drag/copy all the tracks you'd like. Make sure the
folder and tracks match!!! Watch your available memory.
5. Open VLC (I recommend).
6. Starting from the first folder (alphabetically), select all
of the tracks and drag to VLC's playlist. Directly below each
set, place the next one.
7. When finished, save the playlist as 'Music.m3u' or 'PSP Music.m3u'
or similar.
8. Create one new folder in MUSIC, titled exactly as the playlist.
Place the playlist and all of the tracks from each folder in this
folder. DELETE the other empty folders.
9. Disconnect your PSP (this may be lengthy.) Open 'Music' and
the folder containing of all of your tracks. An 'm3u' symbol
should appear.
10. Now your tracks are ordered by artist and then by album, and then
year. You can now shuffle through ALL of the tracks, and they
are ordered. I myself currently have 508 tracks on my 2GB MS.
You're welcome. It was a trial-and-error for me, but I finally got it working. Got tired of unorganized tracks and 'group mode'. Better than iPod if you ask me!
