I read one of the threads on this forum about using DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter to copy dvds. I am very confused about exactly how to do this, I am trying to keep all of the content(menus, movie, and extras) I have 1 Click DVD COpy a burning software and that works beautifuly as long as the disc is small enough to fit on my DVD-5. If someone could help me understand the process(what to download and do etc) of copying a 2+ hour dvd without losing content or sacrificing quality I would greatly appreciate it.

Take a look at this link:
http://webpages.charter.net/bacitup
It contains software and guides for the most popular DVD backup
processes. The guides are very detailed and easy to follow.
There are both free and paid programs.
Personally I use prefer AnyDVD (paid), Shrink (free) and Imgburn
(free). If you want to try all free programs I would suggest
DVD Fab Decrypter, FixVTS, Shrink, and Imgburn.
If you have questions after reading these, post back and there is
always someone ready to help.

Just this question which of those many guides do I use. Which one can get all of the DVD onto the 4.7 gb disc?

all of them will work

depends on what program you want to use

if you want the easiest combo possible use CloneDVD 2 + AnyDVD , theres a free 21 day trial.

if your compression is below say 70% you will notice a picture quality difference if your using a DVD-5 blank or you Can use a DVD-9 blank if you don't want to lose any quality or use an encoder

The program to get your movie on a 4.7 disc is Shrink.
You can either use AnyDVD with Shrink to break the encryption and
write an ISO file. The other alternative is to rip to the hard
drive with DVD Decrypter and then use Shrink. After the file is
in ISO form from Shrink you can use the Imgburn guide and burn it
to a DVD. These programs have never failed on any backup I've done.
The Shrink guide explains all the settings needed to get what you
want.

this guide uses nothing but free programs and will not fail,
plus it is extremely detailed with options in it, but it is very easy too.
