Error when using xread command MS28

Hi guys let me ask your help all, not sure if anyone else has had this problem.

ok i am using extreme boot maker and xtream 52 to flash my ms28

i create a boot disc to my C: drive using XBM 5.3 and i apply bokes patch.

Now i boot into dos and Type xread ....... .....(serial)
it lists my sata card
i press option 2 for my card and it does the following

Reading......01% control-break pressed. terminate batch file
'C:\XTREME\XREAD.BAT' (YES\NO\ALL) ?

so not sure what to do, i tried no and it comes up with

Orig.bin is not 256kb in size aborting.


PLEASE GUYS I NEED YOUR HELP. AM I USING THE RIGHT FIRMWARE AND XBM AND THE RIGHT SETTINGS.

How big is your hard drive, it has been know that if you have it larger than 4 gig then it may not owrk and you will need to make a partition and put the files on there instead.

as I said in your other post, dont use the xread/ xhack way as its not too good, IMO, Use PS2's guide on here to flashing ms28 or get textbooks tutorial and it will tell you step by step.

and it just dont want any. is it easier to use a floppy

I always use a floppy drive and never have any problems.
it is wise to use a new disk though.

ok i use ps2's guide and when it gets to the reading part it only reads 0.1% then it stops and does nothing

is this due the timing of turning the xbox back on

i have tried 5 secs, 10 secs and 15 should i wait longer

hmm, i am not sure that happens, i normally wait 10-12 secs turn it on and it flashes fine. Are you using the via 6421 chipset? you will need that sata card in order for it to flash i believe.
maybe someone else has come across this and can shed some light on the subject :-(
