I would say Starview but then Brian over on the Replay Lite thread would differ :)
Just a matter of choice as both do as it says on the tin. Hope you are keeping well have not seen you here for a while :)

scouser thanks have a starview myself but did'nt know the differences between them anyway, mind you i find my starview brill but i have flashed some replay lites for friends geting on grand been on holidays but kept checking in every now and then (needed to get my fix as my husband says)

I knew you had one anto :) As said I think the Starview is better supported and less hassle, if your friend has the budget and a fair idea of ip/linux I would go for a Dbox as it is opensourced and will always have updates.

In our terms you cant have an omlette without breaking some eggs, knowledge and experience come from making mistakes :)
Thats how I know so much about Starviews from breaking them first and then fixing them :)

Alright lads, me again. My Epg only brings up the channel im on and the one next to it. Can this be improved or is it something you have to accept with the Starview? Cheers guys.

The EPG on Starview is a hit and miss you either get it or you dont best bet is the weekly tv mag or you can upgrade to the Eurovox which has better EPG ok

box problems we all have them,i would suggest to people to buy a small notebook and write down info fixes and codes for future reference so they will be to hand

Hey Ya'll. the aspect ration was a bit dodgy on V4 firmware but I remember fixing it by messing around in the menu, it was setting it to 16:9, setting it to auto and the back to 16:9 or something like that but I cant remember how it works. Can anybody remember this?

Once you disconnect the box from electric this happens just change in set up and then change back out should sort itself then

c+w deleted all channels and run channel scan but channels are on that damn updating loop.

May be just a problem with the CC in your area. These are the latest codes we have as they have not changed.

hey can anyone help. Have ntl dublin running v4 software majority of channels are fine but and some channels keep jumping and are not tuned in properly. Also some channels instead of names are call TV 104 etc..any help sorting this out would be appreciated

hi can anyone tell me how to fix my box. on certain channels like sky sports 2, extra, kerrang, more four and sky premiere the reception is quite poor as oppose to the other channels which are all prefect. the channels with the dodgy reception are of a certain khz. mainly 427000khz and 363000khz. also could anyone tell me how to hook up a second box if i wanted to in the same house please. i only have one cable feed. thanks 4 any help

Hi all.
I've heard recently that RTE channels will be broadcasting in HD soon.
Will Starview receive HD signals or will this be a totally different service to cable does anyone know?

51cent, if your with nthell just get them to install a second point in whatever room you want,they usually charge 20 quid to do this installation,just connect the starview box in the same way as your other one and it should work perfectly.
By the way,when you have the second point installed ring nthell and have it cancelled,they'll stop charging you for it straight away but you'll still get to keep the extra point ;)
