Hi Mc
you first need to get all the channels on your box first then do a sorted list when you have this done you can transfer the channel dump to your pc using the gtrom loader open the loader click on the channel data file then click upload another box will open up put the name for your dump and then press save and it will start uploading the dump to your pc hope this helps you
Cheers for the info Ferg much appreciated :)

I am in Dublin, not sure about firmware.
He told me he bought it last week..you know the usual... from the seller, "all you have to do is plug it in and you're all set" unquote!
Can you let me know the programme scanning set up and if there is an EMU option I need to worry abnout.
Cheers Fergus

in order for you to set the box up you need to know what firmware is on it as when you buy it the correct firmware will not be on it as they are not allowed to sell with it on it for legal reasons so if you can find that out because if the correct firmware is not on it you will have to flash the box first ok

and yes my back is at me today that is the only reason i am up so early

I will find out the firmaware and post again tomorow as I am in work right now. Thanks for the extra quick response and sorry to hear about your back, my wife suffers from that also, wouldn't wish back trouble on anyone.
Still its probably from carrying the weight of this forum on your shoulders, since you and one ot two others are running the whole show.
Thanks again and keep up the excellent work...you da man!!!!

hi Fergus
just spoke with him and he tells me the box is silver with the words: "The Box" in black on the front and the features are written on the side of it...the last thing being upgrade ref via RS232 (cable I assume).
He already has a starview original (which I upgraded for him) and he tells me it is not like the starview in appearance.
What do you think???

next download the gtrom loader

next download the v4.50 firmware for Ireland make sure it is that one only

you can get all the stuff from the eko site at the bottom of my post in the folder named TheBox ok when you have that you will need to flash the box with that first ok

The channel dumps that you speak of, is this just a memory of the order you have your channels stored on your box or is it something more?

I think Ferg was speaking about firmware over the last few posts not a channel dump. A channel dump is as you say just a list of channels that are area specific and will also contain specific provider information. Most channel dumps are tailored to the user's preferences in group orders most of the time.

That is correct if you have a live coaxial feed. I think fergus was talking about a telephone type (DSL) broadband feed.
