Sorry, me again.

I forgot to mention I'm using a DVB-C card so I need the frequency to scan with MyTheatre.

Cheers.

Just to let people know, A new firmware was released for the eurovox max v 2008. UFL_MAX_V_06_09_07 is a new loader with embedded firmware. the older firmware had a fault that was killing the boxes. Anybody with a ev max v 2008 should flash with this new firmware immediately. If you need it you can get it from the link at the bottom of this post.

I've bought 1 starview box from UKBARGAINHOUSE and been using it for 1 year already. It look like a clone box but there is no problem with updating any software on it. i was useing 2.6 on it when i bought it and now i've updated 4.00 last month and its still working.

What shell i do?? because i'm looking to buy 1 for my sister.
UKBARGAINHOUSE is not listing anymore so shell i buy from DreamSatellite.

please explaine to me cause i need 1 urgently.

If its a clone you will need 2.57_fixed on it as v4 will blow it , Count the vents on top 18x7 = clone and 25x7 = genuine

If you send Fergus a private message he can help you get another b0x

why do people keep saying 18x7 vents is a fake its not always a fake the original starviews have 18x7 vents this should be cleared up 18x7 is not neccesarily a clone

I have an original SV and it has 25 vents , any clones I have seen and flashed with 2.57 had 18 vents and still up and running with no problems at all !

Hi .

I think Celtic71 is right. The size of the starview box doesnt make any differents.

The box i bought from UKBARGAINHOUSE on flebay was a smaller size box and its been working on v4.00 for more then a month already. Even some of my other friends are using the smaller boxes and its all updating without any problem. So what makes you thinks this is still a clone?

Can i ask where Fergus is getting his boxes from and what sizes are his box. Because dreamsatellite told me his agent is in Dubai. He told me even Wizzerd is buying from them. They use to supplie the small boxes, then they have changed to bigger once and now they are again supplying the small boxes.

So where is Fergus buying from?? and what are his sizes?

if i remember right from a previous thread and another site dream and wiz are both renowned for selling clones in fact i think it was one of them that 1st introduced the clones/software that buggered everybody's boxes up

1st gen boxes have 18x7 vents
2nd gen boxes have 25x7 vents
clones have 18x7 vents

clones can usually be picked out by the inferior quality and everythings opposite way round on the back

best place to look is on fleabay for a second hand box look for a seller that is'nt renowned for selling starview boxes then the chances are there just selling there own for some reason. always check there feedback to see if they've sold any before check the listing photo for the remote control see if it had the indentation around the on button if it has then chances are its a clone.

hope this helps.

First Generation = 13 x 7 vents
Genuine = 25 x 7 vents
Clone = 18 x 7 vents

Just buy the The Box and be done with it, why bother buy an older starview when the box is out and will have more updates when they come out. The older starviews are up to V4 and thats it by the looks of it and there are no clones of The Box. Various good sellers to if ya look about. For the sake of few quid I wuldnt buy an older SV now.
