Found it here you are
To check the remote is working
If you have a camera on your mobile phone , go into the camera mode and hold the SV remote in front of it and press some buttons , you should see the LED light flashing as you press the buttons
If you dont see the light flashing , then you need a new remote

hello lads could do with a bit of advice. have a st**view 1 and just put ver 4.00 on it. turned on the emu and still no channels. need some words of wisdom. cheers

ferg i think you might be reading that wrong the lights only flash if you press the buttons repeatedly otherwise you would put on channel 3 and get 33 or 333 the lights stay on until you release the button its the same with all remotes

We had someone on here a while back with this problem. I ran him through checking the remote with the phone trick, and same as yourself, the remote was working.
Next thing to do is remove the top of the SV. There is a small cable from the front panel, connected to the mainboard with a plug. Make sure the plug hasn't come loose. Just to be sure, pull the plug of the socket, and put it back on, give it a good push to make sure it's really on.
The guys box was fairly new if I remember rightly, and that was his problem, so don't be surprised if thats what you find, even in a new box.
