hi all,need a second opinion starview 1 vers 400 was working moved house [box] only 30 channels viewable black picture with rest no signal on those channels blackrock area n*l has movies but no bbc1 rte

try a factory setting and rescan

looks like decembers going to be a fun month.
yesterdays codes worked fine , just got up turned on telly and its gone again 12/12/07.
btw im in c+w area southall
looking forward to some new codes guys,

Hi could anybody please give step by step instructions on how to put in the new firmware257e on to my starview box,,,so that I do not need to keep puting in codes.

257 fixed.bin is equal to latest v4.00e software with autorol
Loading software to the starview box
? Plug the RS232 null modem lead into the back of the box and to your PC.
? Plug the box into the mains and turn it on. It should display ON, on the display
? Double click the red arrow which is the loading software
? Now click the bin file button
? Double click the starview file
? Now click download (this will take a few minute)
Well done now your box has the software on.
? Plug the box in to the TV using the usual scart lead.
? Turn on the box, press menu and go to installation,
? Select correct provider i.e. NTL, C/W
? Then automatic scan
? Once the channels are found, exit back to the blank screen
? Press menu (ignore what is on the screen) and press 1 5 7 0, this takes you to a secret menu,
? Go down to emu and turn it on.
? Now exit and wait for it to store all the data.
? That?s it, have fun

Thanks for all that info...sorry to appear a bit daft, but do i need to download a new firmware from a site onto my Pc... I think I,m using this 257e at the moment from when I originaly set up my box last year/ as I know lately I have been having to search for codes to get my channels back

Can any one help my mate has the box living in dublin and has nthell.He was flashed to 451 for about 6 weeks and then the box stared to turn it self off and on after about 30 sec I reflashed to 450 but still the same any idea

V4.50 is for Ireland

hello catchkid i also got arnet loaded with v1, i uploaded to new version and follow same scan, it came through on mine, still issues with epg and info but channels all came on.

starview 1 down blacro**,vers400,factory reset autoscan.6 chs found,tv102,tv105,tv106,etc on n*l .i dont know what he is picking up,it was losing channels from the last 10 days.[original] any ideas and dont say fu**ed lol, i said i would rescan at home to check box out but think it is a cc problem,go digital in house ok,

you need the 27/10/07 release it works perfect and put the channels in the correct order as per subbed box also puts the correct freq in as in the provider freq
