Cacti,

Do you mind me asking how many boxes are being used?

As you say and hopefully understand, one SVBox one TV for full package, but the answer to your question is yes, he will be able to receive basic channels on 2nd TV using the method you describe, but he will have to tune each station in - individually, ie. bbbc1 - tune TV to 1 etc. in fact it is possible to get several channels with patience and then operate 2nd TV with it's own remote.(I have the same setup on a portable TV upstairs via BB connection - no ariel available, so have setup as decribed, scart for full SV package. Hope this helps.

thanks i thought it possible because he has 2 tvs running with splitter, but as splitter was causing weekness of signal i said remove and have one input for main tv,and output for basic channels which he should still have.many thanks for input as we are all still learning.

At 1 point I was splitting my signal in 3 directions. 1 for bedroom, 1 for living room, and one for talkback I was using starview at the time and had terrible signal issues (see previous posts) A fellow Jedi advised me to buy a variable gain Amplifier Konaig, so I done so and it done the job. I recently changed the boxes to Eurovox max v and have found that I do not need to use the Amplifier anymore and my signal & picture quality have no issues.

Certain geographical areas obviously have better gain than others but from what I can gather from my own experience in my own area which is an over utilised network considering an STB with a better tuner may solve many peoples issues as it has with mine and a member of my family.

Merry Christmas everyone, I hope santa is good to you and may your Hogmany be as good as mines gonny be :)
