Hello again all but one are ok, it is stuck on english will not move, one of my mates posted it on another forum, but he did not get back to me any way to move it on.

If you have a mobile phone with a camera, switch it to camera mode. Point the remote at the camera lens and press some buttons , and you should see the infra-red LED flashing on the screen. If you don't see it flashing, then yes, the remote is dead.If you do see it flashing, then it's not the remote.

I cant see why they shouldn't , tell them that its stuck on English and you cant access the menu to set it up

Just caught me as I am just leaving for a while.
You will need a null modem cable DB9F to DB9F
Like this one

Make sure your USB adapter is a USB to serial port adapter similar to this one. As I presume your laptop doesnt have a 9 way serial port you use this in conjunction with the null modem cable.

These two cable links are only for reference as they can be purchased alot cheaper on fleabay.
All firmware/loader can be found in the link at the end of my post marked Eamos FTA Library.
You will need the GTromloader, (Starview Software Uploader), found in the Starview folder of the link.
You will need version 2.57 fixed for a CLONE box
You will need version 4.oo for a GENUINE box.
Both of these can be found in the Starview Firmware Folder of the link.
To help you decide which type of box you have click on the link at the end of my post marked SV EV Info, then click on clones, this will help you figure out what you have.
And please download the Starview PDF guide this will give you step by step instructions on how to do everything.This can be found in the Starview Documentation folder in the link.
